Thesis:
Re-Surfacing the Path
Jane Whitinger, 2005
Abstract
Humanity is advancing in the development both of the intellect (the left hemisphere of the neocortex), and of intuition, (the right hemisphere). The basic development of both hemispheres has already been accomplished. Now there needs to be an emphasis on restructuring each (i.e., “resurfacing”) to accommodate integration of the two hemispheres, enabling spiritually wholistic ways of “being in the world” compatible with the plan of human evolution.
Because of humanity’s advances, many old techniques for assisting this kind of spiritual evolution may no longer be as effective as they once were. After research into new techniques available to use as tools of assistance in spiritual evolution, specific aspects from four groups of teachings or philosophies were chosen: 1) Mantra Yoga; 2) The Short Path; 3) Conceptual Teachings; and 4) Ritualistic Living.
A twenty-four hour intensive weekend workshop was developed, during which these tools were used in specific ways to amplify transformational shifts leading to enhanced levels of wholistic spirituality and/or soul awareness.
Surveys both immediately following the workshop and six-weeks later evaluated the efficacy of the tools and recorded specific ways in which participants’ life styles and levels of spiritual awareness shifted.
