Abstract
The research produced a manuscript entitled, “Are You Ill? Or Just Evolving?” that is written to help those who have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and/or fibromyalgia – and those who treat them – understand the relationship of the symptoms of these disorders to the process of the evolutionary expansion of consciousness known as the first initiation (or transformation), the second initiation (or transmutation), and the third initiation (or transfiguration).
The personal experience of the writer, from the perspective of spiritual science, introduces possible causes for the pain and disruptions in the brain and the nervous system that have become the diagnostic criteria for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.
The most current medical research into the cause and treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia is explored in depth. A detailed discussion of esoteric embryology, esoteric anatomy, the esoteric understanding of pain, and the spiritual function of the nervous system, the brain, and the vagus nerve is included, as well as a comprehensive exploration – in relation to the symptoms most commonly associated with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia – of the expansions of consciousness known as the first, second, and third initiations.
Details of the qualitative research study conducted among people diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and/or fibromyalgia are presented in table format and correlations and hypotheses between exoteric symptoms and esoteric teachings are offered.
