Abstract
A workshop titled, Healing Through Joy, was developed and taught as a weekend retreat. The objective was to help people experience a greater sense of well-being. The curriculum included discussion and instruction for developing a greater understanding of the attribute of joy and the use of experiential and experimental meditative techniques involving movement, music, and color.
Topics included the seven energy centers, the astral body, levels of consciousness, sun signs, elements, sacred lessons, ethics, and simplistic living¾living in the moment and sacred dance, i.e., movement, music and color, and the four sacred dances developed to pull the information together in a form and modality that could be anchored into physical manifestation and memory.
Participants' evaluation forms revealed uplifted spirits, a reasonable comprehension of that which was discussed and an appreciation for the way in which the sacred dances pulled the spirit of joy and the teachings together in culminating the weekend experience.
