Thesis:
Implementing a Congregational Health Ministry to the Homebound
Jo Grossheim, 2004
Abstract
A project titled, “Implementing a Congregational Health Ministry to the Homebound” was developed and completed within the membership of a specific congregation. It consisted of planning the project; educating the implementor in health ministry; recruitment and training of thirty three volunteer visitors and sixteen lay Eucharistic ministers; putting the program into action; and final evaluations. The expectations were that the unique problems of the homebound would be defined and addressed, and that health and well-being would improve as they were nurtured by those trained in ministering to the whole-person—spiritually, mentally, and emotionally, as well as physically. Evaluations from both the volunteer visitors and the homebound indicated the objectives were met.
