About Sancta Sophia
Sancta Sophia Seminary offers a distinctive approach to transformation.
Envisioning a life of hope, love and service, each student prepares to be a modern Light Worker through professional preparation. Sancta Sophia, established in 1977 by Carol E. Parrish, is located in the spiritual setting of Sparrow Hawk Village in the foothills of the Ozarks outside Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Guests are always welcome to the Seminary, which is open to all who seek personal growth, various certifications, or ordination. Our ordinations are endorsed by the International Council of Community Churches, in cooperation with Churches Uniting in Christ.
A transformative process is designed for each student, combining on-campus and home study, meditation, and projects. The unique spiritual-mentor relationship reflects the archetypal student-teacher bond in a contemporary format.
Intellectual tools and practical techniques for personal spiritual growth offer a transformational course of study. Our innovative approach and emphasis on esoteric Christianity prepares practitioners, teachers, and ministers for interfaith service who wish to assist humanity during this time of spiritual awakening.
Sparrow Hawk Village, an intentional spiritual community, was established in 1981. It is nestled among 440 acres of gently rolling Ozark forest filled with abundant wildlife and natural, serene beauty. Organic community gardens, orchards, horse pastures, hiking trails, springs, and over a mile of river frontage, bordered by 700 acres of primitive state forest, significantly add to the quality of life.
