The Center for Holistic Awareness & Study held it's first workshop on Saturday, April 19th, 2008, at the Woodlawn Library in Woodlawn, MD. The facilitators for this workshop were Rev. Giovanna Vannall, Director of the center, and Calvin Styles, a member of the spiritual group at the center.
The workshop was the first in a series that will continue throughout the year, using the book, Adventure in Meditation, Vol I, from the three volume set written by Rev. Carol Parrish.
The participants that attended came from the Baltimore, Annapolis and Washington, DC area, and as far away as Delaware. The information was well received and many of the participants have already signed up for the next set of workshops in the series.

Announcment by Rev. Parrish on February 4:
"It is my pleasure to announce that Rev. Linda Oliver is moving on to the staff of Sancta Sophia Seminary as the new Assistant Dean. Linda has completed her tenure with Tahlequah Community Hospital and will now be full time with us. Her degree and experience in management has prepared her for this role, and her dedication to health, healing and well-being over the years gives her a great perspective for her position with us. She has directed the Wellness Center for some years, but now she can really be "hands-on" for all of us. Linda's desire to serve humanity continues in her work with us; we are most pleased."
