We will explore the problem of reconciling a divided world view which is the goal for the enlightened in religion, with the apparent reality of duality and separatism which is the world view of science. An understanding of spiritual models of the world, both modern and ancient, will help illumine a path that points toward the synthesis of both science and spirituality.
Western science separated its concept of reality from those of religion. What could be investigated by our five senses and our instruments became considered the “real world” and the realm of science. Everything else was relegated to spirituality. With the advent of modern science, this dichotomy is resolving. Experiments using the “psychic” senses of children to perceive "subtle" light, the "phantom" leaf experiment, and many other “fringe” sciences will help us understand a more unitive world view which synthesizes modern science and spirituality.

Responsibility is the mark of maturity especially for a mentor. We review concepts of legalities for each area of our work, for healing and counseling, and the ethics of spirituality. A hard look at ethics is required if we are to touch others as souls incarnate.
This is one of three components required for Spiritual Mentor certification. Note: Spiritual Mentor Program classes are scheduled for the weekends immediately preceding and/or following Graduate Week. Spiritual Mentor enrollees also participate in Grad Week activities with other seminary students.

AM class
A new and different understanding of intimate relationships can be found in spirituality. Sexuality, marriages and partnerships have great contributions to make in our daily lives and much of it happens without awareness. We shall explore levels of consciousness and the challenges of sexuality, love and loving, as well as marriage and commitment. All have far more impact than surface understanding.
In our workshop we shall explore how relationships change as we change; levels of consciousness and what they mean to us when healthy bonding occurs; and gain a deeper understanding of masculine and feminine values and how they compliment one another in the quest for wholeness. Each of us need to know the power of mating, sexuality; and its part in healing and renewal; keys to healthy relationships, and the romantic attraction of various evolutions as they interact.

A workshop titled, “Spiritual Insights to Death: Comparing Clinical and Spiritual Descriptions of the Dying Process,” was developed for hospice clinical and spiritual care staff. The objectives are to provide a comparison of a medical description of the dying process to a spiritual description of dying, and to introduce to clinical care and spiritual care providers a common language for improving assessments of hospice patients’ spiritual care needs. Instruction is included on both the dying process and the ancient spiritual teachings on death. Such a comparison provides an opportunity for both clinical and spiritual care staff members to gain new insights and could prove beneficial to the terminally ill patients and all those profoundly concerned.

During this blessing, the recipient remains fully clothed, lying on a healing table, while one of the ancient biblical healing oils is intuitively chosen for him or her. The ritual, inspired by the desire to be in resonance with the loving compassionate heart of God, establishes a connection and an energy balance between the heart and the mind. The blessing takes about 20 minutes and recipients make donations to support the work of the Wellness Center.
AM session: Facing Death and Dying with New Awareness
Rev. Carol E. Parrish
Understanding that death is life too, participants are taught how to cope with personal grief and how to failitate a support system. The mysteries of death and dying are re-explored using a plethora of source materials and personal experiences. PM session: Coping with Spiritual Emergencies
Rev. Carol E. Parrish
with assistant Rev. Katherine Zakutansky
Humanity faces change at every juncture; this sometimes creates spiritual emergencies. Poised between the known and the unknown, evolutionary forces push us forward, yet few understand expanded realities. As we encounter experiences hard to fathom, we must rework the old and familiar in order to be made new.
This insightful day begins at 10 AM with a lecture and messages by Carol Parrish and assistants ($4 donation). From 11:15 to closing, students and others share their personal intuitive skill—astrology, numerology, psychic and Shustah attunements, Reiki, Healing Touch, and others—in 15-minute private appointments ($8 each).
